Michael Shabkie is a U.S. Navy Veteran and a nationally recognized leader in emergency medical response in both the public and private sectors.

Over the last 25 years, he has been responsible for providing expertise, direct supervision and operational oversight to large scale emergency events including mass shootings, FEMA hurricane responses and mass casualty incidents (MCI).

Additionally, he has provided leadership in event planning for two NFL Super Bowl’s, many NASCAR racing events at Phoenix International Raceway,  the Fiesta Bowl,  Arizona Cardinal football games at the University of Phoenix Stadium and numerous concerts and special events.

 Shabkie started his career as a Nationally Registered Paramedic and an Arizona State Certified Firefighter. After college, he earned multiple certifications in Fire Science, Paramedicine, Hazardous Materials Response and Emergency Medical Dispatch.

In recognition of his passionate commitment to serving others and his industry expertise, he was quickly promoted into progressively more complex leadership roles.

Serving as the Regional Vice President for an Arizona based, publicly traded health and safety company, he provided executive leadership to over 1500 Emergency Medical Services (EMS) providers in Arizona, New Mexico and Utah.

As part of his scope of work, Shabkie directed the complex operations that provided critical EMS access to millions of event attendees. During this period, he was responsible for the development and implementation of new 911 operations and directly managed a $55 million-dollar budget.

After 16 years in the C-suite, Shabkie became a consultant to the EMS and Fire Service industry and has been retained by leading EMS and Fire organizations.

As a trusted advisor, he has designed and implemented many innovative EMS service delivery models. He is especially proud to highlight, post 9/11, his work with the Center for Disease Control (CDC) to enhance their EMS and Public Health response to biological weapons of mass destruction.

In addition to his operational experience, Shabkie has an expansive understanding of revenue cycle management and business processes:

* Significant experience in developing complex governmental RFP responses.

* RFP successes yielding $250 million in net revenue over the life of each contract.

* Strong background in contract negotiations and contract administration.

* Development and implementation of new business and marketing strategies.

* Strong background in political and public affairs.

* Executive level experience in revenue cycle operations.

* Managed an operational budget of $55 million dollars for a publicly traded medical transportation company.
