Non Emergency Medical Transportation Accreditation Commission (NEMTAC.org) is proud to be ANSI Accredited. In 2018, the American National Standards Institute granted NEMTAC accreditation as an Accredited Standard Developer (ASD) for the entire NEMT industry.
This designation demonstrates that NEMTAC’s procedures for voluntary consensus standards development adhere to ANSI’s requirements and oversight.
Why is ANSI Accreditation of NEMTAC Important?
Becoming ANSI Accredited means that NEMTAC’s certification of NEMT drivers and the accreditation of NEMT companies meets the highest of standards. This provides an added level of confidence in the certification of people who hold the NEMTAC Certified Transport Specialist (CTS) designation or the companies that achieve NEMTAC Accreditation. It also protects the integrity of NEMTAC and its policies are legal defensibly.
As the NEMT industry’s neutral, third party accrediting body, NEMTAC is committed to fair and impartial management of all certification and re-certification activities, potential conflicts of interest and overall operations. We have, to the best of our ability, designed our policies and procedures to clearly state that NEMTAC conduct is to be fair, uniform, and consistently applied among all accreditation applicants, certificate holders, and affiliated organizations.
